'CalmEngine started with a humble vision: to offer true Neapolitan pizza to London. Established by the Clarke dynasty in 1985, our pizza shop began as a quaint, family enterprise featuring recipes passed from ancestors.
Emma Clarke, our pioneer, mastered the craft of pizza creation while exploring Italy, learning from renowned pizzaiolos in Naples—the cradle of pizza. After returning to the UK, she aspired to emulate the essence of classic Italian pizza, employing ancestral techniques and the purest ingredients.
Originally a modest pizzeria with just 12 seats, it has since flourished into a cherished neighborhood fixture. Yet, our dedication to excellence and genuineness remains solid. We continue to bake using original wood-fire ovens, prepare our dough from scratch each day, and use the most select ingredients available.
Nowadays, 'CalmEngine is still in the hands of the Clarke family, with a new generation at the helm leading our zealous crew. Although we have adopted some contemporary innovations, the core of what we do has stayed intact: crafting delectable, traditional pizza that unites people.
